Nov. Bulletin board

With Moms help we hung up the Nov. bulletin board today. They had oragne halloween lights hung up and we decided to leave them up because they matched this board also. I tought it was so much fun to have Mom meet some of the residents. They thought it was so cool that Mom and I not only look alike, but that we sound and act alike also:) that' scarry.

Got them working!

Yesterday Mom and Daddy painted the porch. I had started the project a few months ago:) After the carpenter added the new door and sink I still needed to paint around the door and down the basement stairs. Painting is one of least favorite things to do, so I asked Mom and Daddy to do me this favor. I cleaned and defrosted my deep freeze while they painted.

I made my Dad a much needed treat of his favorite choc chip cookies:)extra thin and extra crisp.

Mom and Daddy Visiting

My Mom and Daddy surprised us Thursady night. It was so much fun, we met at the cafe where Breann works. (I knew they were coming, but the girls did not) So Mom called when they were in McCook and I told Brittnae that I did not want to cook so we drove to Palisade. When Mom and Daddy walked in teh girls just screamed. (Which she got into a little trouble for disturbing the customers:) she says it was worth it though. They are going to be here with us until Nov. 5th
We enjoyed a day to ourselves today the girls are at the fall retreat in Wellfleet.(Bethel) We did alot of much need coffee time visiting, and then watched "We are the Marshalls". Now Michael is on his way home and we are going to go for Prime Rib at the Pioneer cafe.
I know that time will fly, but we sure will enjoy ourselves while they are here.

Turning back the clock

After looking at some of your blogs you all have inspired me to post some old pictures of the girls. I shed some tears this afternoon as I poured over the photo ablums. I do have the first 5 years of their lives placed in the albums. That is my project while we are at the Mayo Clinic this year. I have the last 10 years worth of pictures to sort and put into albums. Michael does not know it but he gets to help:)
Brittnae was 7 weeks premature (you would never know it would you?) She is truly a miracle baby. She was only hospitalized for 14 days, then we got to bring her home. That was a scary time for us. So after adjusting to being new parents we found out we were expecting Breann. (The girls are 14 months apart) I cannot begin to say how thankful I am for that Oops Lord!! Breann is one of my best friends.
I cannot begin to imagine our life without the girls. As you can see by the pictures even though Mommy was sick most of the time we had a great time baking and playing house. The girls are just the sunshine of my life and I praise the Lord for them.

Another Moppets Thursday

Today was another wonderful Moppets day. It is so amazing to me how wondeful our little ones are. I have not been feeling very well this week(Lupus flare up), and it was so awesome to feel the love our your little ones. I almost had to call in sick today but am I ever glad and thankful to the Lord that I decided to come to Mops today. I just am so blessed to be able to have this hour and a 1/2 to be with the kids.
When I first got to the church I was feeling pretty yucky, but then Haylee and Alexa came in with huge hugs and WOW I felt better already. Then Maycee joined the group and I got hugs from her too. What is it about a hug that makes life just beautiful.
I am truly blessed to be in charge of this ministry. A big thanks goes to you Moms for bringing you precious little ones for us to play with. Also thanks Gloria and Sandy for all your help.

We are playing a bean bag game called "bucket blast". You fasten a bucket to yourself and try to toss a bean bag into another bucket. Here Josh, Olivia, Colby, Maycee, and Haylee are taking their turn.

Colby and Grant are playing toss
Maycee says "cheese"
While the others were tossing, Allen, Alexa and Haley were building quite a castle with Miss Sandy's help.

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY HAYLEE!!!!! SHE BROUGHT CUPCAKES TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE. THEY WERE YUMMY. THANKS HAYLEE!!

COLBY WAS HAVING A HARD TIME TODAY, HE MISSES HIS MOMMY, BUT WE MADE A SOCK DOLL ANYWAY. GOOD JOB COLBY. I AM GLAD YOU CAME TODAY.

WE ALL MADE "SAFE SOCK" DOLLS. WE TALKED ABOUT BEING AFRAID AND HOW TO TALK TO GOD WHEN WE ARE. JUST LIKE DAVID FROM THE STORY WE HEARD ON DAVID AND GOLIATH. SO THESE DOLLS ARE TO HELP US REMEMBER THAT GOD ALWAYS KEEP US SAFE.

GAME TIME

Today Olivia and Sonya came to "Auntie Kim's" house. So we played games, I think I had forgotten what it was like to play a game with a 3 year old. WOW!! Needless to say I finally decided that playing the right way and playing Olivia's way were 2 different things. We had fun playing connect 4, candy land, the hungry catepillar, kerplunk, and good night moon.
This is my idea of a great day!

All work and no play

Today there was no school and after a great morning of just "catching up" on what has been going on in their lives. We decided it was time to get to work. So Brittnae said I want to make lunch (she was making rice a roni) and Breann made a grilled cheese sandwich.
Then I told them they needed to practice piano. They love to play, but to get them to practice is like pulling teeth (sorry Sara). I thought I would get some pictures while they were actually practicing so Sara knows they do practice once in a while....
There are some days when I wonder how much faster time can possibly go? Have you ever wondered about why time cannot stand still for just a little while? Even though the girls did not have school they still have One Act practice and a volleyball game this afternoon. I guess I should just enjoy the time I do have with them. But I sure do miss them when they leave. I just cannot beleive that they are a freshman and a sophmore this year and that the first 9 weeks are almost over. WOW!!

MOPPETS

Today was Mops Thursday!! We had such a blast. We talked about Joseph's coat of many colors and what it means to be jealous, and to envy. We had jello jigglers that were the shapes of smiles and frowns, so with a full tummy on to our craft profect.

Leann brought us pumpkins from her garden, Thank you so much LeAnn for the wonderful pumpkins. after we put on our paint shirts off to the other room to get on with the painting projects. What a blast we had!! We made quite a mess but thanks to Sandy Maggie and Sunni the mess is all cleaned up. They have such a great imagination and they are all so creative. The only problem is that we got a little too much paint on our pumpkins so they will have to dry at least overnight(possibly a few days).

Thanks again to Maggie, Sunni and Sandy for all your help, you are truly a blessing.

Construction Complete

Today the carpenter that was installing our new front door, screen door and new porch sink finally made it out...we have been waiting 31/2 months!!! So I thought I would post a few before and after pictures. What a huge difference it has made already. The wind is not blowing the screen door open and gizzmo is not sneaking out, and of course it just looks 100% better. It seemed like no matter how hard I tried to scrub Michael's wash up sink it just would not come clean, so I just gave up.

Mercy Me Concert

The 4 of us went to the Mercy Me concert last night in Kearney. It was so awesome. Monk and Neagle was the opening opening act, they were good, then Shane and Shane performed. They were great. Then Mercy Me came on the stage, and the whole crowd was on their feet. We were so blessed during the entire concert. It is so amazing at the way the Lord can touch your heart. We heard 4 new songs from their new cd "All that is within me" it comes out Nov. 11. We had a chance to get our Cd and Breann had her tee shirt signed by Mercy Me. Michael and I shook all of their hands. WOW how cool is that!! We thought "we will never wash our hands again." I have always loved Mercy Me for some reason their music has helped me through so many of the rough time in my life, their songs just have a way of uplifting and now there is a whole new meaning behind their music. Needless to say we came away from the concert feeling amazed and very loved by the Lord. God is so good.
After the concert we came back to out hotel and ordered pizza (at 9:30 at night) wow that was a new on for Michael and I. The girls so silly stuff like that all the time on their trips.
While we were waiting for our pizza I got camera happy AGAIn. But I did get lots of great pictures. The one with the 4 us us, it took us 12 shots to actually get one that had all 4 faces in it. We had such a great time.
