What a crazy day!

Brittnae leading the Pack

BAND DAY AT THE MCCOOK PARADE

DRUM MAJOR

Today was band day in McCook, and Brittnae was Drum Major. We got up bright and early. Mom Maris drove and on to McCook we went. We did get there early enough to get a good curb side seat. It was a terribly windy and dusty day, then again when is it not here in Nebraska.
There was lots and lots of candy thrown I ate alittle, but I found a couple of little cuties to pass on my candy too. We had a really nice time.

Then I treated Mom to lunch at the cafe, where Breann works. Of course we had to sit in her section...and we left a great tip, but she is worth it.
BREANN AT THE CAFE GETTING READY TO WAIT ON MOM AND GRANDMA

When I returned home on to Stratton I went to put up the October bulletin board. This is one of the first times I have ever had to put it up by myself, so it proved to be a bit of a challenge, but I got it done.

OCTOBER BULLETIN BOARD

I MADE A FEW TOO MANY PUMPKINS, SO I PUT THIS ONE ON THE DOORWAY

We have movie concessions and tickets at our local theater. We all volunteer our time so the theater can stay up and running. The girls just like to see the movies, and I do most of the work. Tonights movie is "Daddy Day Camp". I think I will try to sneak in and watch a little of that one too.

Peek-a-boo

I know that this is my 3rd post for the day, but at breakfast our puppy gizzmo was playing peek-a-boo. He seems to think that he has to be on the kitchen chairs while I am in the kitchen working. As you can I must not be working very hard for there's the dishes, laundry, and just general messes after the girls leave me to go to school.

I now at least have the dishes done and the laundry is 1/2 finished. But I will tell you that blogging is very addictive, I find myself spending a lot of time on the computer checking out everyones blogs. I love being able to keep up with everyones life.

So bear with me I am still learning, and I will have to get better at just posting once a day. It is just so much fun. I have not used my camera this much since I got it a year ago. I sure have used up alot of batteries. Oh well I am enjoying myself. May the Lord face shine upon you on this beautiful day.

My Girls

This is just a close up of the same picture, but I liked it better.

I was sort of camera happy this morning, but the both looked so nice. I told them to smile pretty. It is not very often anymore that they are both home at the same time so I guess I have to treasure the moments.

I thank the Lord for my girls, they have truly blessed me and kept me going when the going was almost too rough to bear. I love you andPraise God for the days you both entered my life.

Damage Control

Well play day is over and Brittnae and Breann are on the clean up crew. I keep all the toys down the basement. My house is too small and crowded...messy too...to keep things upstairs.

deconstructing the strollers and playpens

Hi ho Hi ho it's down the basement we go

I think I have accumulated a few too many toys:) What can I say I love to play with the little ones, and I love the toy isle at Wal-mart. You know where to call if you need a babysitter.

PLAY DAY

Today I had the chance to play with Olivia and Sonya. I am so amazed at the things they say. Today Olivia was not "sharing" up to Sonya's expectations, so she said"you need a time out". Then Olivia told me she wanted broccoli for lunch, so I was cooking it and you know the nasty smell....well here is what she thought. She said"Sonya needs a bath , and I asked why? she said that she stinks like eggs." I just laugh at them. They are so much fun. Sort of makes me want mine little again. Someone told me just wait until you are a grandma, I hope that is years and years down the road. So for now I thenk I will just be a fun auntie...Thanks for sharing again Sara!

BRITTNAE'S NEW DO

Here is Brittnaes new hair do, I really could not believe that she did not have any more cut off than 2". But that is all she wanted. The best thing she thinks is her bangs are to her chin. It has been since 1st grade since she has had her bangs cut, so this was a big step for her.

She sure looks pretty!!
she looks diffferent with her glasses on...

Back view, look at the layers!

MICHAEL'S NEW TOY

Last Thursday Michael sent me to McCook to get his new 4 wheeler. After the last time I drove his pick up I cannot beleive that he actually let me drive it again. For those of you who are not aware of my "accident" I sort of messed up the passenger side of the truck. OOPS!! That pole was not supposed to be there.
I made it home saftely PLT!! I Have to check cows tonight, so please pray for the safety of this beautiful thing. I really do not have a very good track record. I think I try to do too many things while I am driving. You know how us women like to miltu-task...Ha

A MAKE OVER DAY

FRONT VIEW

THE VIEW FROM THE BACK

A day at the beauty shop: There was no school today so Breann made a hair appointment at Ashli's in Hayes Center. Her Grandma took her because Brittnae had her hair done also (then Brittnae went to McCook shopping with Grandma) I have not even seen Brittnae's yet. I will post pictures when she gets home.
When I came to pick Breann up my jaw almost hit the ground. I could not beleive that she had so much cut off. She does look pretty. Ashli does such a great job! Thanks Ashli!!!
The girls both got 2 different high lights, and Ashli even had time to give me a new do also. What a great No School Day! I wish we had these make over days more often.

MOPPETS

We had Mops yesterday....Thursday. I get the wonderful oportunity to direct the Moppets (I think I am just a little kid at heart). I have such great helpers Gloria Fanning and Sandy Large were there with us yesterday. Our main lesson was "Doing what is right and fair" in God's eyes. We play, sing,do activities and have great snack time. The best thing is learning about God. Be sure to ask the kids about what it means to be responsible and doing our parts.
We have gained 4 new Moppets this year I think we are up to 11 now! How wonderful God is SO GOOD!!! Hope all of you kiddo's had as much fun as I did. A special thanks to Gloria and Sandy.

OLIVIA AND SONYA

I had the privilege of playing with Olivia and Sonya today. I cannot say that I babysit, because we have to much fun to call it that. I just want to tell Sara, thank you for allowing me these precious days with her little ones.

Sonya was sitting on the counter helping me, and of course part of baking is licking the bowl. I think she enjoyed herself. But then again there is nothing like chocolate is there!!!

While Sonya was napping Olivia helped me make meatballs.

This first one is her idea of how to mix them

My idea on how to mix!!! I hope her hands were clean!
Olivia those were the best meatballs we ever ate. Thank you for your help.

Bulletin Boards

I have told so many of you that I decorate a bulletin board for the retirement center in Stratton, so I thought I would include a few of the latest pictures. The only reason I take pictures is so that I do not duplicate them. And of course I have to send a picture to my mom every month. I love doing this, and I will send pict, of the girls helping me paint. They always help with the enlarging and painting. We have alot of fun.

This was for the volunteer breakfast, the theme was
mailboxes, I had a hard time deciding what type of mailboxes to
use, so I decided to use the Nebraska postage stamp instead.

This is Sept. lighthouse

This was Augusts bulletin board, they loved raggedy
Ann and Andy.

Brittnae and Gizzmo

This is a typical Sunday at the Maris' we all just veg. out after Church. Brittnae and our pekignese "Gizzmo" are enjoying their afternoon. Brittnae has been sick the last few days (sinus infection), today is the first day she has felt better. It is always so awful when they are sick, no matter how old they get.

Volleyball game

This was the game against Imperial. Breann plays C team and some JV. We happened to actually win this game. She sure was happy about that. She just has alot of fun and that is what matters.

Michael's new look

Michael had the Lasik corrective eye surgery done last week in Kearney. He loves his "new look". (I made him get some sun glasses) He loves not having to wear glasses anymore. His sight is now 20/20 and 20/15/ he basically sees better than I do with my glasses on. I can say that I an totally relieved to have the surgery over. I was pretty stressed out that they were going to nick something that would cause him permanent damage. But PTL all is well!!

These are his safety glasses, so he would not scratch his newly corrected eyes.

(he would kill me if he knew I put this pic. on here)
